2 days in a row

So I am TOTALLY in love with my Wii and Wii Fit!!

I like the variety of exercises - the games - the virtual room - all from the comfort of home - no leaving - no intimidation from bodies in MUCH better shape than mine...

It is fun... I work up a sweat... I burn calories - I work on my cardio - what is there to lose!! :)

I am really going to look into the EA sports one coming out in a couple of months - that seems really intersting - and challenging...

So I have my exercise going well - and my eating is better - I am trying to cut down on calories and eat smarter - but still allow small indulges... note - the word SMALL...

Now I gotta get my school work going better... but we are started... so no real complaints yet

A New Year

Why is it that a new year seems to be the only time we think of making changes??

The truth is we can make changes whenever...

A while back I saw an article in the local paper about a friend of mine and her doing the Sun Run... and it inspired me... so I am going to join a clinic and give it a go.... 13 weeks...

I also plan to use my Wii Fit and to get to Monday night volleyball as often as possible...

Sleeping and Dogs

Ok - I LOVE my dog Sherman! He is cute and adorable. But when I am trying hard to sleep (graveyards) I can't say I am as in love with him as he pounced on the bed wanting to play. I guess to be fair - he slept all night with daddy (who btw complained about being forced to the side of the bed once again) so he didn't want to sleep all day with me - but sheesh! Lord KNOWS I need my beauty sleep!

I finally got him to settle back down - only to have him pounce again 2 hours later. I think he got the message that I really wanted to sleep.

At least tomorrow grandma is going to take him and spoil him as usual....

About me...

As you can tell from my title - I am obese, diabetic (type 2), married and have kids. My kids are 20, 18 and almost 17. My youngest will graduate in June 2008. My oldest is my only daughter - a great young woman - working full time - thinking about school in the fall (evening and weekends so she can keep working). Happily in a fairly long term relationship. My older son has a couple more classes to finish to officially graduate - he has dreams of becoming a doctor - I know he can do it! The youngest is working his first job this summer - he is also a high-level competitive speed skater - short track - and is doing his training throughout the summer. He will hopefully put on a lot of bulk this summer and continue to grow.

Hubby - what can I say - I married a great man. Patience (for the most part), kind, loving. Believe me - to be married to me - you NEED patience!

I am a cardiology technologist as of June 8th 2007 when I finished my 1st practicum. I work casual and hope to get a permanent position in a few months. I still have another 11 classes to get through before I get my diploma level - then I hope to do some more advanced training - so I figure I will be in school for about 4 years more.

As for the diabetes - I am often in denial - eating what I know I shouldn't. I am still in the honeymoon period I guess - so I need to kick myself in the butt and start doing a better job of looking after me. I need to lose weight as well - and eating better and exercising more will help.

Somehow I have to change all the I needs to I am doings. How does one motive themselves like that?

Anyone got any advice?
